The mission of our sociology graduate programs is to provide students with an advanced understanding of sociological theory, methods, and principles that can be applied in public and private agencies and nonprofit organizations.

MA Sociology

Creating Knowledge that can Change Society

We are increasingly facing new challenges in society, and we need new ways of understanding them. The MA program provides students with the theoretical and methodological expertise to conduct social research, creating knowledge to improve society.

MS in Applied Sociology

Turning Research into Practice

Applied sociology brings research out of academia to more directly address the needs of those in the community. The MS program provides student with the skills and expertise to produce research that is applied by corporations, non-profits, and government agencies to inform decisions and guide policies.
